We welcome new doctoral projects!

We are especially keen to hear from you if you are interested in work leading to a PhD – and that can include projects involving supervisors drawn from more than Department or field of expertise. Have a look at the ‘People’ page of this site – where ‘research interests’ give a fair idea of the areas of supervision – or drop us a line!

There are two competitive sources of funding available to stdy for a PhD at Durham:

• Northern Bridge Doctoral Training Partnership (AHRC-funded) (for home / EU applicants)
• Durham Doctoral Studentships (for applicants from anywhere in the world)

Note that an application with a realistic chance of success will require early engagement with potential supervisors to work on the research proposal — as early as the summer of the year before you intend to begin your studies.
